Who is EDI Support Services (EDISS)?
The EDI Support Services team assists providers and vendors submit electronic claims through electronic data interchange (EDI). In addition to assisting providers migrate to more efficient electronic solutions, this team supports EDI processing for many lines of business (refer to http://www.edissweb.com/cgp/supp_docs/ to view specific information regarding the lines of business supported).
What is EDI?
EDI is the electronic exchange of information between two entities. EDI provides a way to exchange information electronically, dramatically improving how we all do business. EDISS supports the EDI process. This team is divided into two areas of focus: the Help Desk and the Projects Team.
What services does EDISS provide?
EDISS Help Desk
The EDISS Help Desk focuses on Trading Partner support. EDISS defines a Trading Partner as an entity which sends and/or receives electronic health care transactions to/from EDISS. A Trading Partner could be a provider, billing group, billing service, clearinghouse, or payer.The EDISS Help Desk staffs' main responsibilities are to work with Trading Partners by providing general phone support and marketing EDI. Other EDISS Help Desk responsibilities include:
- Issuing Trading Partners the proper IDs to submit claims electronically
- Completing the necessary set-up procedures to allow Trading Partners the ability to submit claims electronically
- Assisting Trading Partners with completing testing for EDI
- Ongoing support for any production related issues
- Researching claim submission issues
- MREP and PC-Print - free software to translate electronic remittance advice
- PC-ACE Pro32 software support - a free/low cost software to create electronic claims in the ANSI 4010A1 format and translate electronic remittance advice

EDISS Projects Team
The EDISS Projects team focuses on EDISS Help Desk support. The EDISS Projects staff responsibilities include:
- Educating provider community about the EDI process
- Implementing mandates/changes requested by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
- Implementing technology to make changes easier for all providers
- Developing and implementing process improvements
- Testing of EDI processing
- Analysis of electronic claim accuracy
- Supporting EDI collection system
- Providing software support
