5010A1 X12 835 Payment Advice Non-Enforcement Ended!
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Office of E-Health Standards and Services (OESS) announced that the Non-Enforcement period for 4010 ended July 31, 2012, for the 5010A1 ASC X12 835 Payment Advice.
Visit the ICD-10 website , for updated HIPAA transaction standards (ASC X12 Version 5010, NCPDP Versions D.0 and 3.0) and details about the announcement.
Note: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Dakota and Wyoming did not follow the 5010A1 ASC X12 835 Remittance Advice Non-Enforcement period. This transaction went 5010A1 as of June 30, 2012.

For All Trading Partners
The 4010 Payment Advice transaction ended on July 31, 2012, for Medicare Part A and Part B. It is up to each Trading Partner to verify in Total OnBoarding (TOB) that they are registered for the 835 (5010A1) Payment Advice to continue receiving electronic remittance advice (ERA). If this is not done, ERA’s may not be generated.

“Am I in production?” This is a question that the EDI Support Services’ (EDISS) Help Desk is regularly asked. To save Trading Partners a phone call, this question can be answered by looking at your Total OnBoarding (TOB) profile.
For vendors, you may view production status of the providers who are currently set up with your Trading Partner ID by searching for their NPI on your TOB profile. Once the NPI is found, click on Profile and you will be able to view that NPI’s profile summary and see their production status and the effective date. If an NPI is not listed on the Provider List, you can be assured that the NPI in question is not linked to your Trading Partner ID.
For individual providers, you may view your production status by clicking on View Summary from your TOB home page. You will be able to see what Trading Partner ID you are currently set up with and the effective date.
